Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve made my booking process as easy as I can. My diary is in real time allowing you to see my availability and select a date and time that I have available. This will allow you to select your session, sign my contracts and pay your retainer to book your slot. Alternatively you can pop me a whatsapp message or an email.

For Newborns I book two tentative dates so if your baby arrives early or late, I’ll adjust as needed so you can still take advantage of the ideal newborn window.

  • To ensure everything is perfectly clear and nothing slips through the cracks, all bookings are confirmed in writing either via my website’s booking form or by email. This means both of us have the exact date, time, and session details saved and easy to refer back to. Don’t worry, I’m always happy to chat by phone or WhatsApp beforehand if you’d like to talk through ideas or ask questions before booking. It’s always me you speak to, no one else!

  • I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for maternity and newborn sessions, as my diary fills quickly. For family and child sessions, a few weeks notice is usually fine, though I do sometimes have last minute availability. Weekend slots fill up very quickly, and October through to December are usually pre booked from the year before.

  • Life happens! If you or your little ones are unwell, we’ll simply find another suitable date for you.

  • Sessions vary depending on the type:

Maternity & family sessions are typically around 45 minutes (with 20–40 minutes of shooting).

Newborn sessions: up to 3 hours, to allow for feeding, cuddling and settling

Child portrait sessions: usually 30–60 minutes, depending on age and attention span

However, if you or your little one need more time that’s absolutely fine too, my full portrait sessions leave ample time between sessions should they need to run over. Some children need more time to take in a new environment, and new people and they’re never rushed.

  • I photograph in my cosy Talgarth studio or outdoors in the beautiful Welsh countryside if you’ve

opted for a Location Session, I have toys on hand for little ones and tea and coffee for parents.

Frequently Asked Questions - Newborns

  • To capture the sweetest, sleepiest moments, it’s best to book your session during pregnancy or as soon after birth as possible- newborn photoshoots happen within the first 10 to 16 days when babies are most calm and easy to pose.

  • Your baby’s safety is my highest priority. I use tried and tested posing techniques and maintain a warm, comfortable environment. I never force poses that may cause discomfort. A lot of newborn poses you see on my page are created with me supporting your baby and are then created in post processing.

  • You don’t need to bring much just your baby’s favourite comfort items if you wish. Extra feeds if not breast feeding, and a dummy for settling. All wraps, blankets, and props will be provided. Baby is fed on arrival at the studio so they’re nice and full to start. I do also have brand new dummies available too if you forget to bring any. I also have nappies and wipes!

  • Absolutely! I’m happy to include siblings and parents during the session to create beautiful memories together. Pet’s are welcome too!

  • These things happen especially with newborns, I just ask that you try to give me as much notice as possible so that I can offer the slot to someone else. I will of course offer you another date with no extra charge, but this will only be offered once due to the nature of bookings and other clients that I need to accomodate.
