covering everything from baby safety and posing to styling, editing, and business strategy.
My mentoring sessions are tailored to you, focusing on the areas where you need support
whether that's improving your lighting, building a strong portfolio, creating a calm client experience or just consistency in your sessions.
Master an Efficient, Stress-Free Newborn Workflow
One of the most common challenges new (and even experienced) newborn photographers face is managing time and flow during a session, especially when working with unsettled babies.
My sessions consistently run under 2 hours, even with fussy or sensitive little ones
all while still delivering a full, beautifully styled gallery every time.
How? I’ve developed a structured, flexible workflow that I’ve perfected over 16 years, and it never changes from baby to baby.
In my 1:1 training, I’ll teach you exactly how I:
Move smoothly from setup to setup without disturbing baby
Read cues and maintain control of the session
Keep parents relaxed and involved
Maximise posing variety without dragging out time
This isn’t about rushing. It’s about working smarter with confidence, calm energy and intention.
You’ll leave your training with a reliable, repeatable flow you can use with any baby and the skills to deliver full galleries efficiently without ever compromising quality or safety.

The day is split into two real newborn sessions to ensure you get both observation and practical experience:
Session 1 – Watch & Learn
I’ll guide you through my full 2-hour newborn workflow with a real baby.You’ll observe how I pose, style, settle, and flow through each setup, while I talk you through the why behind every decision.
Session 2 – Hands-On Posing
In the second session, you’ll take the lead.Posing the baby with me by your side offering real time guidance, tips, and reassurance.
You’ll gain direct experience in baby handling, positioning, and shooting with purpose and calm control.

What to Bring on the Day
To make the most of your mentoring experience, please bring the following with you:
Camera + Lens (ideally a 24-70mm or 35mm)
Notebook and pen – there's a lot of gold to take in!
Fingerless gloves – studio will be very warm for baby, but you’ll find it easy to hold a naked baby with fingerless gloves
Lunch and cold drinks – I’ll provide tea and coffee, but please bring your own lunch
Comfy clothes – we’ll be moving around and posing babies, so wear something easy to work in and something cool - it gets VERY warm!
I’ll supply everything else you need, including two beautiful newborn models, wraps, props, and full studio access.
