Maternity Photography FAQs
When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?
The ideal time for a maternity session is between 26 and 34 weeks.
During this window, your bump is beautifully rounded, and you’ll likely still feel comfortable enough to move and pose with ease.
However, every pregnancy is unique get in touch if you’re unsure.
Do you offer studio or outdoor sessions?
All maternity sessions are held in my private studio in Talgarth near Brecon.
The studio is calm, beautifully styled, and fully equipped to create timeless, fine art maternity portraits in a relaxed and luxurious environment.
Can my partner or children join the session?
Absolutely.
Maternity sessions can be solo or include your partner, children, or even pets.
These portraits are about celebrating your journey to motherhood who’s included is entirely up to you.
What should I wear?
You’ll receive a full styling guide after booking, with tips on flattering silhouettes and colours.
I also offer access to a client wardrobe of maternity dresses and drapes.
Soft, flowing fabrics and neutral tones photograph beautifully.
You are welcome to send me inspiration images that you love and would like to recreate.
I also offer an example page of image styles you can browse.
I’m not confident in front of the camera will you help me pose?
Yes completely.
Most of my clients feel this way before their session.
I’ll gently guide you through flattering, natural poses that highlight your bump and make you feel radiant and relaxed.
I will pose everything from your hands, your feet, you face and your hair!
Will my images be retouched?
Yes. All your final images are carefully retouched to enhance lighting, smooth textures, and refine details while keeping a natural, glowing look.
I want you to feel like the best version of yourself without feeling over edited.
Do you offer hair and makeup?
This is not something I offer because I don’t want to change who you are.
You are welcome to book this yourself but please bare in mind that make up will need to match your overall skin tone, especially if your are being photographed nude.
When will I receive my images?
Your edited images will be ready the evening of your session.
If you’ve chosen a digital only collection, they’ll be delivered via a download link once edited within 24 hours.
If you’ve selected a collection with prints or artwork, these will be delivered once they have been printed (times can vary from 7-18 days)
Do you offer newborn sessions too?
Yes! Many clients book a Maternity + Newborn Bundle to document the full journey. I specialise in Newborn photography and also train other photographers too.
If you book a maternity session, you will receive a complimentary Newborn session.

I pose everyone and every image you see. I've spent years perfecting my craft, years studying women's bodies and pregnancy so I can get the best out of your session and your body. I'd never expect you to just stand there and know what to do. Every pose I show you what to do, how to position your feet, your hands, your head, your bump literally everything. I will be moving your hair telling you to lift your chin and adjusting as I go. Posing is a massive part of your session besides the lighting and the styling. Everything I ask you to do I have done myself to ensure it looks amazing!
